> What is the difference from Free, Standard e Professional?
The Free version is completely free to use. The limitations of Free version are the number of songs you can import in a playlist (max 5), the duration of recording (max 60 seconds) and you can’t change the background of karaoke lyrics. Besides, in the Free version there is the watermark “Unregistered version” in the karaoke screen and you cannot use the professional features.
When you purchase the license (Standard or Professional version), all the above limitations will be removed.
In addition to the STANDARD version features, the PROFESSIONAL version has the “Singers Playlist” module, the Background Music & Effects module and others features. In addition to this, the Professional version license can be used on 3 different Windows PCs and it can be used in public as concerts, musical evenings, parties, etc….
For Mac OS X there is only the Free and Professional version (with less features than Windows version)

> What happens after the purchase?
When you complete the payment you will receive automatically an email with the license code to unlock the program.
> When I try to register the program I have the error “invalid registration data” or “can’t retrieve registration data”, why?
Be sure to insert correctly the registration data and type email and code without adding spaces. Be also sure to be connected in internet, it is required for the first registration.
> My program results “Unregistered” but I’ve already registered it in the past
Probably this happens after an upgrade or after you have inadvertently deleted the file “settings.dat” from the “Documents” folder. In that case, you can register again the program with the same registration data (email and code) received after purchase. If it fails try to temporarily disable your antivirus.
After the registration, the program will work Online and Offline (without internet connection). If you’re still having problems, please contact us for support.
> Can I ask for a refund?
Before purchasing the software, please TRY the Free Version!!! And read our refund policies in Terms&Conditions
> Can I change the midi output and connect the program with an expander or midi sequencer?
Yes, you can use an external midi driver. Connect the device to your PC and the set the midi out in Kanto Karaoke. Below the steps:
– Go to Edit menu
– Click in the box Midi Out (you will see an “x”)
– From the dropdown menu select your midi device
– Play your songs and check the output
> How does the “Live Performance” work? Can I stop and edit the sequence of the playlist?
If you are playing the songs of a playlist, in the section Live Performance (where you can see the current song and the next 2 songs) you can always change the next songs, in fact, you can delete and/or add different songs dragging songs from the playlist.

If you have a single song in Live Performance, at the end of it will not start any other song.
> How to stop a playlist and perform only one song at a time?
In the EDIT menu, you can set AUTOPLAY to “NO”. In this way at the end of the song it will not start the next.
> Program updates are free?
Yes. All program updates are free for 3 years. After 3 years, if you want to continue to have updates and priority technical support, you will have to renew at an advantageous price.
In the fourth year, if the renewal has not been carried out, the license will be deactivated.
> Can I change or enlarge the font of the lyrics?
Yes, by clicking on the EDIT menu you can find the Lyrics Settings where you can choose the size and style of the characters, and even the number of rows to be displayed during karaoke.
> My video karaoke in Mp4 or AVI formats don’t work, what can I do?
If your MP4 video don’t play, it means that you do not have the necessary codecs installed on your PC. You can download them for free. Eg. you can use the codec K-Lite Codec Pack
> Video karaoke in the dual screen don’t work, what can I do?
If your video don’t play in the dual screen, it means that you do not have the necessary codecs installed on your PC. You can download them for free. Eg. you can use the codec K-Lite Codec Pack
> I’m trying to change the pitch of Video karaoke but doesn’t work, what can I do?
Try to download and install the free codec K-Lite Codec Pack in your PC.
For MAC OS, it’s not possible to change the pitch of video files. We will add this feature in next releases.
> Can I synchronize mp3 lyrics with Kanto Karaoke?
Kanto Karaoke can convert midi and kar files in mp3-karaoke and the mp3 file will contain text automatically synchronized. Kanto Karaoke is the unique software that offer this feature and read MP3 karaoke obtained by midi and kar files.
If you want to synchronize lyrics to mp3 you can use Kanto Syncro
> How I solve the error A DEVICE ID HAS BEEN USED THAT IS OUT OF RANGE FOR YOUR SYSTEM?
This error appears when there is some problem with the sound card driver. A quick and easy way to solve this problem is to download and install Coolsoft Virtual Midi Synt. With the installation of this software the issue will be fixed.
> I have lots of karaoke files, how can I add them to the program or search them quickly?
You can add your karaoke files in the playlists of the program and then use the SEARCH function in the program. This function searches the songs in ALL playlists you’ve created. If you have a huge amount of files and do not want to import them in the playlist, then the best solution is to install a small plugin as “Search Everything“. With it you can search quickly (in less than a second ) the songs in your PC or external hard drive and then drag songs founded directly into the program to play.
If you have a MAC you can install the App EasyFind
> Is there any way to make the playlist appear bigger (longer), so that it displays more than 9 songs?
Yes you can set the playlist longer, you have to drag down the window of playlist. Please see this video: http://screencast.com/
> I put a CDG karaoke CD in and when I try to open a file it doesn’t work. Why?
If you have CD+G disc, you need to do an operation before play the karaoke songs. You have to extract the mp3+cdg files from the CD+G disc. You can do this in simple and fast way using the free software AudioGrabber. To obtain mp3+cdg files (and NOT wav+cdg files), you have to download and install the MP3 Plugin for Audiograbber, from this page: http://www.audiograbber.org/
After installed the plugin you will be able to rip your CDG disks to mp3+cdg files through Audiograbber software
>The App won’t open anymore on MAC. How can I fix this?
Please go in your DOCUMENTS folder and delete the file “settings.dat”. Then re-try to open the app.
> I’ve a MAC with Retina Display and I see a lyrics font too big. How can I solve this?
You need to open the KantoPlayer app in low resolution mode. Follow these steps:
- Quit the app if it’s open.
- In the Finder, choose Applications from the Go menu.
- In the Applications folder that opens, click the KantoPlayer app’s icon so it’s highlighted.
- Choose Get Info from the File menu.
- Place a checkmark next to “Open in Low Resolution”
- Close the window and open the app again.
>When I try to open midi or mp3 file, I get the following error: Error: Access violation at address 00690A37 in module ‘KantoPlayer.exe’. Read of address 00000044.
Solution: please check for Windows Updates and install them.
> The App often freezes or crashes
Please disable the automatic Windows Update service.
If you upload a custom background be sure that it is not heavy (max 1 MB).
If the program freeze with midi or mp3 files, please open the program and press the button CTRL+F12 and enable the option “Reduce CPU Usage”.
> The Karaoke recording records only voice from the microphone and not the music over.
